Tockenham Parish Council

Welcome to the Tockenham Parish Council website. It has been designed as a “one-stop shop” for parishioners and the wider community and is intended to provide up to date and historical information on all Parish Council related matters, including meetings and decisions.

The Parish Council today provides a vital part of local democracy, representing views, and guarding local interests with Wiltshire Council, and many other agencies. The Parish Council is elected for a 4-year term and each year sets an annual precept which is used primarily for maintaining the recreation ground and the local surroundings as well as essential insurance cover. It meets in the Village Hall, approximately every 2 months to discuss parish council business. All local residents are welcome to attend any of the meetings, as members of the public. If you have any specific issues that you would like to raise at a Tockenham Parish Council Meeting, or any questions that you would like to ask, please submit them to the clerk beforehand at clerk@tockenhamparishcouncil.gov.uk

The next Parish Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday 5th November 2025 at 7pm at the Tockenham Village Hall.

Canine Care Card Service,

Available to all dog-owners, whether their dog came from Dogs Trust or not. This is particularly aimed at owners who may not have friends or relatives who could take care of their dog, should they sadly die, receive a life-changing diagnosis or move into a care home. We know this can often be of great concern to the elderly, as their dog may be their only friend and companion – however, Dogs Trust can give them peace of mind, knowing their dog's future is safe, should the worst happen to them. Once an owner has signed up, and should their Canine Care Card ever be activated, it means we can arrange for their dog to come into Dogs Trust and give them the love and care they deserve, with a view to finding them a loving new home.

At the Tockenham Parish Council meeting on 2nd July 2025 the Parish Council appointed a company to remove the old play equipment and replace it with new items. The new equipment will include a main item, seesaw and swings. Work is expected to take place in October 2025 and the park will be closed for one week whilst the old equipment is removed and the new equipment installed. An opening event will be held once the new equipment has been installed and is ready to be enjoyed.
