Tockenham Parish Council

Welcome to the Tockenham Parish Council website. It has been designed as a “one-stop shop” for parishioners and the wider community and is intended to provide up to date and historical information on all Parish Council related matters, including meetings and decisions.

The Parish Council today provides a vital part of local democracy, representing views, and guarding local interests with Wiltshire Council, and many other agencies. The Parish Council is elected for a 4-year term and each year sets an annual precept which is used primarily for maintaining the recreation ground and the local surroundings as well as essential insurance cover. It meets in the Village Hall, approximately every 2 months to discuss parish council business. All local residents are welcome to attend any of the meetings, as members of the public. If you have any specific issues that you would like to raise at a Tockenham Parish Council Meeting, or any questions that you would like to ask, please submit them to the clerk beforehand at clerk@tockenhamparishcouncil.gov.uk

The next Parish Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday 5th November 2025 at 7pm at the Tockenham Village Hall.

Western Forest

None

The Western Forest has funding available to support landowner engagement events that promote woodland creation and management across Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, and the West of England.

We invite farmer clusters and community groups to apply for funding to host events that encourage conversations around planting more trees and restoring existing woodlands. Funding can be used to cover costs such as venue hire, refreshments, printed materials, and staff time.

This fund operates on a rolling basis and will remain open until all available funding has been allocated. Early applications are encouraged.

As we head towards the cooler months and start to prepare harsher weather, and very likely storms, SSE is contacting parishes and groups to remind everyone of their services for communities and residents.

SSE are the Electricity Network operator in the area. Responsible for the cables and wires that bring electricity to your homes and businesses regardless of who you pay your bill to.

SSE are committed to supporting communities in building resilience and especially the more vulnerable customers, urging them to sign up to SSE's Priority Services Register. This is invaluable, free support for those that need it most in a power cut and explain what SSE offer customers regarding support. There are other benefits with being on the register too.
